Summary of the role

As a result of internal career advancement and business growth, we are pleased to offer an opportunity for a Senior Risk Consultant to join the Line 2 Enterprise Risk function at Diligenta.

We are looking for an experienced Risk professional to support the delivery of comprehensive, effective, best practice Risk Management processes to enable Diligenta to meet its corporate governance, regulatory and clients' requirements, including

  • To advise and assist Risk Owners at all levels of the organisation on all aspects of the Diligenta Risk Management Framework (including both Operational and Strategic and Other risks to the business).
  • To support the delivery of Operational Risk Management processes for clients in line with contractual obligations.
  • To support strategic change implementation to ensure the BAU framework remains adequate going forward

This is a client facing role, working directly for the client facing Risk Manager. The key purpose of the role is to support the Risk Manager in providing Risk oversight, challenge and guidance to adequately articulate and influence a healthy Risk profile within Diligenta and its client services.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the implementation, maintenance and delivery of the Diligenta Risk Management Framework, to ensure that the accountability for risk management is clear, that there are processes and mechanisms in place for the effective identification, assessment, management, reporting and escalation of issues relating to all risks within the business and within the processes administered on behalf of clients.
  • To play a key role in delivering contractual obligations and SLAs in respect of risk management to clients.
  • To provide key input to the continued development of the Diligenta Risk Management Framework, assist the business in understanding and managing their risks and ensure that business management are trained in the use of relevant tools.
  • To provide education, guidance and support to business management in the identification and assessment of risks and controls and the use of the risk frameworks and tools that they are required to use.
  • To produce in line with SLAs and reporting timetables Risk MI and reporting that effectively and accurately summarises the current risk position and facilitates management decision making. This includes reviewing and challenging the adequacy of Risk Reports produced by other areas of the business prior to submission to the Risk Manager.
  • To liaise with clients as needed to discuss any matters relating to the risk management processes, issue resolution or reporting conducted on their behalf.
  • To conduct, as required, analysis and investigation on projects to facilitate the understanding and assessment of risk within Diligenta and the processes it administers on behalf of its clients.

What we're looking for

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships, engage stakeholders, and influence at all levels
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret complex data effectively
  • Proven experience in best practice risk management, including risk assessment, mitigation and control frameworks
  • Advanced excel and reporting skills, with the ability to manipulate data, create insightful reports and present findings clearly
  • A strong results-driven mindset, demonstrating accountability, proactivity and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Experience in control design and implementation, ensuring robust frameworks that support business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, demonstrating self-sufficiency in managing workloads and problem solving
  • Experience with risk management software is advantageous with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems and tools
  • At least two years of experience in a risk-related role
  • At least two years' experience in financial services, with a solid grasp of industry regulations and best practice
  • Relevant professional qualifications (FCA, AFPC, IRM, Insurance) or the desire to work towards a professional qualification
