Summary of the role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Protection Specialist to join the Compliance function at Diligenta in either Peterborough, Reading, Edinburgh or Basingstoke. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the Data Protection Manager and the wider Data Protection Team in all matters covering the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, which amends the existing UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act (2018) as applicable for our clients, shared services and Diligenta.

What you’ll be doing - Support the Data Protection Lead and Data Protection Manager in ensuring corporate compliance with Data Protection legislation.
- Play a key technical, advisory and influencing role to ensure that Diligenta and the services it provides to its clients are compliant with the Data Protection legislation.
- Review and maintain Data Protection owned regulatory policies and procedures and controls across Diligenta.
- Draft and provide Data Protection training to staff as necessary.
- Support the delivery of the annual Compliance Plan for Diligenta and its clients, incorporating the Data Protection Plan.
- Represent the Data Protection team at client committees.
- Investigate, prepare and disseminate data protection Management Information within Diligenta and to clients.
- Assist with Incident Management.
- Complete required Data Protection Assessments including LIAs, DPIAs (including AI), TRAs, complete RoPAs, assist with advice for DSARs, due diligence for suppliers, etc.
What we’re looking for - Achieved Data Protection qualification, ideally CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or AIGP.
- Proven experience in a similar data protection/compliance role.
- Good understanding of Microsoft applications.
- Able to work as an efficient team member and good communicator.
- Sound understanding of regulatory structure and process, regulations and their underlying principles.
- Interest or experience in assessing AI technologies.
