Summary of the role

An exciting opportunity has come available for a Risk Governance Manager to take a leading role in shaping the future of our Risk Governance Function at Diligenta. In this pivotal position, you’ll drive the development and oversight of governance reporting and framework documentation, enabling a clear, enterprise-wide view of risk and enhancing our tooling and reporting capabilities.
  
Your work will directly support strategic decision-making and the continued maturity of Diligenta’s risk governance landscape. As a people leader, you’ll manage a dedicated team while owning governance standards and framework documentation, ensuring consistency, clarity, and alignment with regulatory expectations. You’ll also play a key role in shaping a high-performing, collaborative function and influencing reporting standards across Line 2, helping to deliver actionable insight and drive risk maturity across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead the Risk Governance team to deliver high-quality oversight, reporting, and framework support aligned to functional objectives
  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of RMF documentation, working closely with the Senior Risk Consultant for Framework and Reporting to ensure annual refresh and effective communication
  • Support the development of client and internal reporting to RACC and RMCC, ensuring outputs are insightful, consistent, and aligned with strategic priorities
  • Manage and develop three direct reports, fostering collaboration and capability across the Risk Event, Controls (including ISAE production), and Reporting functions
  • Collaborate with Risk Partnering, Oversight, and Specialist teams to ensure central intelligence is shared and leveraged effectively
  • Partner with the Risk Systems Manager to support the development of risk tooling and explore the inclusion of new technologies to enhance governance and reporting
  • Contribute to the Risk Framework workstream of the enhancement programme, ensuring governance and tooling elements are embedded effectively
  • Engage with senior leaders across the wider Line 2 Function and EMT-level stakeholders to influence and support governance priorities
  • Lead change initiatives related to governance and reporting enhancements, ensuring smooth adoption and alignment with strategic goals
  • Challenge and influence the quality and consistency of risk reporting across Line 2 to ensure it delivers actionable insight
What we’re looking for
  • Professional, academic or skills-based qualification that has some relevance to the role profile
  • Organised self-starter with strong leadership capabilities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to navigate complexity and communicate clearly and concisely
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Reporting writing skills with attention to detail
  • Conversant with best practice enterprise risk management processes and frameworks
  • Technical knowledge of risk management software tools and their use
  • Strong MS Excel and reporting skills
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Risk Management, or related roles within a regulated environment
  • Experience in line management (e.g., performance management, development, and support of direct reports)
  • Exposure to assurance reporting (e.g., ISAE3402) or regulatory risk reporting
  • Experience with risk-based or technology-based qualification or accreditation from an industry body is desirable
  • Insurance industry relevant accreditation is desirable
